Upon arriving at the charming village of St. Wolfgang, I immediately headed to the mountain railway ticket office near the pier. Waiting there was a vibrant red train, resembling a classic toy straight out of a vintage postcard. The train was not particularly fast. However, its true charm lay in this deliberate, slow ascent. Furthermore, it traded speed for the luxury of time. As the train departed, heavy vibrations rumbled through the seats as we climbed the steep incline. My ears popped repeatedly as we navigated through dense pine woods and small, dark tunnels before the forest vanished and the world opened up.
